Who is the programme designed for?

The placements are suited to psychology students, postgraduate students in health related applied psychology, and people pursuing or working in psychosocial careers. The team can discuss suitability based on your background and interests.

How long is a placement?

The standard programme lasts three weeks. Bespoke longer programmes can be arranged around individual needs, subject to discussion and approval by the placement team.

Are all eight workshops included?

Your programme includes four half day workshops drawn from a menu of eight topics. Confirm the final topics and timetable with the team before booking.

Who delivers and supervises the workshops?

Qualified clinical and counselling psychologists in Sri Lanka conduct the workshops, supervised by consultant clinical and counselling psychologists in the UK.

Will I provide therapy or treat patients?

The programme described here centres on experiential education, observation and interaction in care settings. It does not qualify participants to deliver therapy independently. Discuss the exact scope of activities and any relevant requirements with the team.

What does the placement cost, and what is included?
