From response to lasting relationships

A history of turning
care into capacity.

Samutthãna was established following the Asian Tsunami as a resource centre to build capacity to respond to the mental health consequences of the tragedy.

Its parent body, the UK Sri Lanka Trauma Group, was established in 1996 to support responses to the mental health consequences of Sri Lanka’s civil war. The two organisations are connected with mental health services in both Sri Lanka and the UK.
